Western Digital Release their first 10,000rpm 2.5″ SAS Hard Drives

Western Digital have now launched a new 2.5 inch hard drive, this drive is the company’s first 2.5 inch drive with a 10,000RPM spindle-speed which uses the SAS interface.
The drive has a capacity of 300GB and is compatible with 3 Gb/s and 6Gb/s SAS interfaces, the drive can sustain a sequential data rate of 128 MB/sec, even with these impressive specs the drive still manages to boast a 1.6 M hour MTBF rating.
Other specifications worth mentioning include a 16MB buffer and an average latency of 3.00ms, these drives are aimed towards the enterprise market, find out more on HotHardware.
