Orange’s iPhone 3GS: Data Limitations Too Excessive?
By: Jamie Pert | November 3, 2009 | 5 CommentsOver the last few days there has been quite a lot of hype surrounding the release of the iPhone 3GS on the UK carrier Orange, however upon a closer inspection the data limitations appear to be quite restricting.
Orange have previously claimed that their unlimited data plan allows for up to 750MB per month, however we are now hearing further restrictions.
Other restrictions seem to suggest that Orange may restricting access to other forms of data usage, such as Internet radio, Facebook messaging, streaming and Instant messaging.
Oranges actual terms and conditions read “Not to be used for other activities (eg using your handset as a modem, non-Orange internet based streaming services, voice or video over the internet, instant messaging, peer to peer file sharing, non-Orange internet based video). Should such use be detected notice may be given and Network protection controls applied to all services which Orange does not believe constitutes mobile browsing.”
These restrictions may lock down the data usage so much that it may give you a very cut-down iPhone experience, find out more on SlashGear.
Will all these data-limitations put you off getting an iPhone from Orange?
