NVIDIA EVGA Hybrid GTX 275 Co-op PhysX Card
By: Peter Chubb | November 3, 2009 | Leave a CommentWhen you get EVGA and NVIDIA team up to make a hybrid card you know that we are in for something special, this is just what we have with the EVGA GTX 275 Co-op PhysX card. To get the GTX 275 Co-op PhysX NVIDIA and EVGA have mated together a GTX 275 with a GTS 250 GPU on the same board.
This is very clever as the GTX 275 chip does all the rendering of the graphics, while the GTS 250 does all the technical stuff with PhysX calculations. The NVIDIA EVGA Hybrid GTX 275 Co-op PhysX has a huge amount memory, 1280 MB in fact. Total bandwidth for both GPUs comes in at 179.8 GB/sec.
The G92 chip has also been installed, this chip is getting a little old but it has seen an upgrade to help squeeze more out of it. Performance of the chip is now much better now that NVIDIA and EVGA have done some work with it.
PC Perspective have been taking a closer look at the hybrid card but have not been able to see what the chip is clocked at, but they assume that it will be lower than a standard GTS 250. There is good reason for this; it is mated to that power hungry GTX 275 chip.
