Black Friday Deals 2009: Best Buy Prices Matched by AlexTronics

The busiest shopping day and unofficial start to the shopping season is almost upon us, but small businesses are normally fearful of this day. Black Friday 2009 falls on November 27, 2009 and we already know that Best Buy is already prepared for the big shopping day, but so has AlexTronics.

As we mentioned above, Black Friday is normally a bad day for small businesses, as they struggle to compete with the low prices of the larger stores. According to a story over at ksax.com, a number of small business owners in Minnesota are taking the fight to the big boys.

One of those stores is AlexTronics in downtown Alexandria. The manager of the store has said that Black Friday is the only day that he is able to match best Buy’s prices. He said “We need to stay competitive, and when you can drive 60 miles to get these products at a lower price, that’s an issue.”

Another retailer that is able to offer something that the big retailers cannot is Roundabout sports. The owner, Tammi Sheldon said that offering used sporting goods is something that customers want, but often have trouble finding.
