Bayonetta (Xbox 360): Hands-on Video

Another game we managed to get a look at at the recent EuroGamer EXPO was Bayonetta, this game has been developed by Sega and will be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as of January 29th 2010.

The version we played was on the Xbox 360, the demo was pretty short however gave us a good enough look to get an impression of the game, the game visually looked like Devil May Cry, the graphics weren’t the best but not at all bad.

Some of the action was pretty gruesome, however no-matter how many enemies were on the screen the game stayed smooth and uncluttered, the game-play itself was extremely fast-paced and reminded me a little of Too Human.

There was a long list of moves to learn which sometimes required extremely long combinations to be pressed, however I found myself button-bashing, one of the most annoying things for me was the camera angles, sometimes you would lose sense of direction and quite often your character wasn’t in view.

My biggest criticism for the game was that it seemed as if there was no skill involved, at one point me and my colleague experimented by playing the game whilst not looking at the screen and button-bashing, sure enough I managed to beat the opponents without suffering any significant blows.

In my opinion the game was quite fun to play, however if the repetitive battles do not adapt in the full-game I think it could become pretty boring, you can see a hands-on video of the game below.
