Assassin’s Creed 2: PS3 Hands-on preview

Yesterday at the EuroGamer Expo we had a chance to check out a lot of games which are coming out in the near future, one of these games was Assassin’s Creed 2, the version we played was on the PlayStation 3.

Not only did we get a hands-on of the game but we also managed to talk to a Ubisoft representative, this representative told us some things which weren’t widely known about the upcoming game.

We asked him quite a few questions regarding the game, heres a summary of what his answers told us about the game, first of all the performance and graphics are said to be identical on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game is said to start of in a similar way to Fallout 3 and Fable 2, you begin as your character at an early age and grow up with him, this stage of the game is said to last about 4 hours.

The story mode itself lasts approximately 24-26 hours, however there are a lot of different sub-missions and achievements which will keep you playing the game for hours, he also stated that the game is a lot more diverse then its predecessor, this is due to the fact many believed that the original game was a bit too repetitive.

The game is said to be a real mix between an RPG and an action adventure game, this time round you will have your own village to go back to, where from what we can see you will have your own home, there is also rumors regarding a possible brothel!

As for the hands-on the game looks and feels very much like the original, however it seems more refined and climbing seemed a little quicker, we only played the game for 15 minutes so it was hard to see exactly what had changed, that said we were assured that the story mode was a lot more involving and there would be quite a few shocks throughout the game.

The US release of the game is said to be the 17th of November, and I believe that the UK release is November 20th, sadly we weren’t allowed to video the game, however I’m pretty sure any Assassin’s Creed fans will love this sequel.
