It has been suggested that Apple will drop their exclusivity deal with AT&T for the iPhone at some point next year, as they finally look to offer the device to other carriers, mainly Verizon, a long term target.
As reported from Computer World, the predictions come from a Wall Street analyst who thinks that diverse carrier support is a ”key element in driving global penetration of the iPhone”.
However, there may be a downside over Apple’s decision to move to Verizon, as the analyst has also predicted that Apple will only receive $300 from Verizon per iPhone, compared to the $450 that they currently receive from AT&T.
It seems as if the Motorola Droid is stealing all of the limelight at the moment though. You can read more on this story over at Computer World.
