Sprint App store coming next year
By: Alan Ng | October 29, 2009
It has been reported that Sprint Nextel are planning to introduce a brand new application store which will place emphasis on their growing lineup of feature phones.
As reported from Computer World, the store is expected to be available sometime next year, with Sprint acquiring the services of a third party company to help them manage the store with weekly updates.
A new dedicated Sprint store would see the likes of BlackBerry, Windows Phones, Android and Palm handset owners be able to have an alternative to the relevant stores that are already available.
Sprint also believes that having a third party help them with the store, would eliminate the complaints that many stores come under fire over apps which get held up in the ‘approval process’.
The new store is planned for the first quarter of next year, more details over at Computer World. Let us know your thoughts on the news.

Feature phones, which are less expensive and full-featured than smartphones such as Android and BlackBerry handsets, are about half the phones Sprint sells today and are making up a growing share.
