Last week we informed you about an upcoming music service that Google were planning to release to the public. Well we can now confirm that the service, dubbed Google ‘OneBox’ is up and running and is now available to use when web browsing.
As reported from Examiner, the service works by users typing in a song, lyric or title and the service will bring you to a results page with more accurate song information for your chosen topic.
Some of the companies already signed up with Google to deliver OneBox to users is Myspace, Lala, Pandora, imeem and Rhapsody.
At the moment, the service is restricted to U.S customers, but you can expect this to change if it turns out to be a success.

The clutter-free box pushes down other search results, such as the artists’ home page and fan sites, and reduces what Google Inc. calls “time to result,” in this case meaning how much clicking one has to do to hear a song.
