Microsoft uses X Factor to promote Xbox 360 lineup

Microsoft have revealed that they have acquired a whole ad slot during UK television programming, to promote some of their upcoming titles in the run up to the Christmas period.

As reported from MCV, Microsoft have chosen the slot between popular UK show The X Factor to showcase some of their upcoming products. These include their new Sky Player, Lips services and DJ Hero, which is due to be released in the UK this week.

Microsoft’s Ad slot will take place on November 14th during the weekly episode of X Factor. UK Xbox marketing director Stephen McGill had this to say on the news:

“By taking up the entire ad break, we can really help to capture the imagination of both potential and existing Xbox users.”

Well thats one way to do it Microsoft. Smart move we reckon.
