Magic Mouse Drivers Released for OS X Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5.8)

By: Jamie Pert | October 28, 2009 | 4 Comments

Apple have now released Magic Mouse drivers for Mac OS X 10.5.8, these drivers will enable those users still running OS X Leopard to use the multitouch functionality that the mouse offers.

The magic mouse works in a similar way to a laptops multitouch touchpad, however instead of having a touchpad the mouse features sensors across the upper surface of the mouse, these sensorspick up a range of different single and two finger gestures.

The Magic Mouse is available from the Apple Store for $69, however it comes free when you purchase any of the iMac systems, find out more on SlashGear.

    Hi,

I just came back to Tampico from McAllen, I got myself a brand new sparkling Magic Mouse, its great! the scrolling feature its awesome, I have always use think mice as low profile mice gave me hand pain but this one is something else it feels different, the 2 sliding plastics on the bottom make it very easy to move like butter on a hot pan… ok not that much but is better than previous mice I had, including the Logitech VX Nano.

I bought the magic mouse and wireless keyboard. Loved them at first. I wish the mouse had a swipe sensitivity adjustment. When I use MS Excel and navigate around the document, it often suddenly scrolls to the bottom of the document, if I only barely move a finger.
My current problem is this: I started experiencing weird finder problems. Go to the dock, choos an app; and instead of opening the app, The Apps folder opens… or I hit Command Q, and instead of quitting the app, it asks me if I want to log out… anyway… I have no way of knowing if any of these problems were caused by wireless keybrd/mouse… assume not.. still I had to back up and re-install OS… I'm running 10.5.8… I've now reconnected the Magic Mouse; however, the full spectrum of preferences / functionality is not showing up in Sys Prefs… I looked for updates, seems I need none… I went to Apple's web site… and downloaded the Magic Mouse 1.0 software… but when attempting to install it, I'm told I don't need it – that I already have it… yet I am still unable to access full functionality of the mouse… Bottom line… the older I get the less time and patience I have for troubleshooting such issues…

I bought a magic one, but it doesn't scrol. Wat do I have to do?
