Intel Moorestown Chips: Not Appearing in Apple Devices
By: Jamie Pert | October 28, 2009 | Leave a CommentAccording to a recent article on SlashGear it seems as if Apple have opted to not use Intel’s Moorestown chips in their future devices, the reason behind this is said to be due to excessive power consumption.
These days portable devices require a good balance between performance and efficiency, it seems that Apple believe that the power consumption associated with the Moorestown chips is not adequate.
Many believed that these Moorestown chips had a chance of being used within the rumored Apple Tablet, if this rumor turns out to be true it will be a big loss for Intel.
As mentioned above this is just a rumor and we have not heard anything from Apple or Intel yet, however as we hear information which confirms/refutes these claims we will keep you updated, check out SlashGear for more information.
