Two days ago we posted an article regarding a new firmware update which was available for Intel’s 34nm X25-M SSD’s, at the time of the article the impression we got was that this firmware update increased performance greatly, however there seems to be a problem with the firmware update.
According to a recent article on SlashGear it seems that Intel have been forced to take down the link for the firmware update, this is due to the fact many users have reported that Windows 7 installations no longer booted following the firmware update.
Intel have not had a lot of luck with these SSD’s so far, soon after they were launched a firmware update was required to fix a defect with the drives.
Intel are said to be investigating the issue, as we hear more we will keep you informed, check out SlashGear for more information. Our advice to all users is to just stick with the stable release until we find out more from Intel.
