Verizon iPhone: Exclusively in Apple’s court, says Seidenberg
By: Peter Chubb | October 27, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere have been many articles written about the upcoming Verizon Droid made by Motorola; one of them is that this new Google Android handset is an “iPhone killer.” But as we discussed in a recent article, that is not the case. None of these handsets even claim to be an “iPhone killer”, that is a label that others put on them.
According to Tech Crunch, Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg was asked a question about a future partnership with Apple and its iPhone; he said “We obviously would be interested at any point in the future that they would be interested in having us as a partner. … This is a decision that is exclusively in Apple’s court.”
We are not certain if Verizon are losing any sleep over not having the iPhone, this can clearly be seen in the Verizon Droid Does Commercial. Verizon is very confident that its new handset will be a great alternative to the Apple iPhone and will stop worrying about not being able to offer its users the phone.
Tech Crunch knows one thing, they know that Verizon holds more cards up its sleeve when it comes to talks with Apple over the iPhone, maybe this has something to do with them being the largest carrier in the U.S.
