Intel have recently released a firmware update for their 34nm Gen X25-M solid state drives, this new firmware update not only adds support for a new feature but it also increases the drives performance.
Hot Hardware recently benchmarked the drive before and after the firmware update, every single benchmark that they ran scored better results with the newer firmware, sometimes performance increased by over 30%.
Even prior to this firmware update these drives boasted great performance, now with this update and the introduction of TRIM support these drives are even better.
It is thought that Windows 7 will really thrive with this firmware update, this is due to the TRIM support, find out more on HotHardware.
