Xbox 360 Not Getting a Blu-ray Accessory
By: Jamie Pert | October 23, 2009
A few days ago we heard rumors regarding the possible launch of a Blu-ray drive being released for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, at the time of these rumors there was no reliable source, therefore we did not cover the story, it seems that our hunch was correct as now according to a report on SlashGear Microsoft have now denied the rumors.
Following the failure of HD DVD many believe that Microsoft should just bite the bullet and begin to support Blu-ray, it seems unlikely though because 1080p HD movies will soon be available streamed directly to your 360.
Personally I won’t even use the 1080p streaming functionality, therefore the need for a Blu-ray drive is not necessary for me, however I can understand people with home-theater setups wanting the extra functionality, find out more on SlashGear.
Do you think Microsoft should offer a Blu-ray drive for their Xbox 360?
