Facebook to follow Google with new music service
By: Alan Ng | October 22, 2009 | Leave a CommentFollowing on from our earlier news which informed you about Google’s plans to introduce a new music service to users in the U.S, it has been confirmed that Facebook will be following a similar pattern by offering a new service for its users, allowing customers to buy music along with other virtual products.
As reported from ComputerWorld, the owners behind the hugely successful social networking website are now looking to see how they can translate its popularity into a good extra source of fiscal profit – with paid music services seen as an ideal option.
The new updates will see Facebook users allowed to purchase songs and official sports icons as part of new virtual gifts. Customers in the U.S will be able to pay $0.10 to send friends a song that can only be listened to online, or you’ll also have the option to pay $0.90 for the song which you can also download and share to other devices.
