Motorola Droid Release Date
By: Peter Chubb | October 20, 2009 | 2 CommentsWe have only known for a few weeks that the Verizon Motorola Droid was coming, but we did not know the release date of the handset. We can finally tell you that the date looks to be October 30, and the hype surrounding the phone has certainly caused a stir.
The Inquisitr came up with this date by visiting the DroidDoes website, there is code on the site, once decoded the date is October 30. Verizon always seems to be bitter about not getting the iPhone, which has lead them to a number of not so subtle attacks on the Apple iPhone.
One ad was explaining how they have 5 times more coverage than AT&T; the most recent was their Verizon Droid Does Commercial. This ad was a dig at the iPhone, highlighting all the features that are lacking with the smartphone, while saying that the new Verizon/ Motorola Droid will come with all those features.
The Motorola Droid is just the latest handset to claim that it will be an iPhone killer, but for once, it could actually be true. Verizon is the preferred network carrier in the US, but they have never had a good smartphone to offer its customers, the Motorola Droid is a handset that Verizon users have been crying out for. The only one drawback that we can see with this latest Google Android handset is that it will not have the best App Store, which as we know Apple have.
