ASUS Android Smartphone late 2009: What about nüvifone G60
By: Peter Chubb | October 19, 2009 | Leave a CommentBack in October of last year, we learned that ASUS were to launch a Google Android handset in 2009. Asustek Computer chairman Jonney Shih and its CEO, Jerry Shen attended a meeting in Taiwan where they confirmed that their first Android smartphone would be unveiled this year.
Engadget have raised a good point though, where does this leave the ASUS-Garmin nuvifone G60 and its OS. They also remind us that it was not a phone that we were all going to rush to purchase anyway. Seems like ASUS should have waited before launching the G60.
ASUS are just the latest to develop an Android handset; it will not be long before Google have the market share when it comes to the mobile OS. There are no details as to what the phone will look like or what the specs will be or price.
We do not even know which cell phone carrier will offer the new ASUS Android smartphone.
