Uncharted 2: 3rd fastest-selling PS3 game

We knew that the release of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was going to be a huge deal for the PS3; this was because of the huge number of pre-orders. Now that the game has hit the shelves, more than 300,000 units were sold with a further 450,000 – 500,000 expected to be sold before the end of the week.

These latest figures supplied by VGChartz confirm that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the 3rd fastest-selling PS3 game in the U.S. The only two games to have beaten it are Metal Gear Solid 4 at two and Grand Theft Auto IV at No.1.

Sales in other countries of the game are as follows, 47,000 units were shifted in Japan on its first day, with sales expected to reach 60,000 – 65,000 by the end of the week. There are no specific sales data for Europe, but week once sales should achieve around 400,000 – 500,000 sales.

If these figures are correct, then the first week sales for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves on the Sony PlayStation 3 will be around one million, making it the fourth fastest PS3 title in worldwide sales figures.
