When a group of men decided to place a giant éclair at the front of Google’s US headquarters, it did not take long for video footage to appear online. Once on YouTube, that was when all the rumors started, would this be the new Android OS and will the Android 2.0 Éclair software come pre-installed on the upcoming Motorola Sholes handset.
The Telegraph noticed the fact that when Google launch a new version of its Android OS, they normally place a huge foam confectionery on the front lawn of its Mountain View offices in California. Nice to know that they did not disappoint, if you watch the video below, you can clearer see a giant Cupcake and Donut in the background. With the Éclair in the foreground, this can only mean that a new Android OS is on the way.
The video, which was posted online, was taken on a Google Android handset and was videoed by members of the Android engineering team. The Motorola Sholes is due out sometime in November, so there is certainly a good chance that it will have the new Android OS, but with no official announcement, all we can do is speculate.
Google know that to stay ahead of the game in the Mobile OS market, they have to keep offering better performance and more features. It is for this reason that many believe that Android will become the most popular Mobile Operating System by 2012.
