Since Verizon and Google announced that they were coming together to offer Verizon customers their first Android handset, there has been huge speculation as to what the handset would be. We knew that it would be something from Motorola, and after some digging around, we found out that it was to be the Motorola Droid or Sholes.
As you can imagine, since then we have covered a number of articles on that very handset. It seems that there are two names for the handset, the Motorola Droid or Sholes. We now wait for confirmation from Verizon as to what the phone will be called on launch.
One post that you may find of interest was a teaser video of Verizon’s first Android handset. The video only lasts for 35 seconds, but gives you a chance to see the boot sequence of the Droid.
We also have for you news of some grainy photos of the Droid / Sholes, or whatever the Motorola handset will be called. The original post came from BGR, who asked their readers if they think it will be a “Verizon Wireless World Edition.”
We also know that when the Verizon Motorola Android handset is in its landscape mode, it looks a lot like the upcoming Nokia N900. The phone is rumored to be launching on October 30.
