Owners of an iPhone 3G or 3GS who run on Untralsn0w to run their unlocked handset on unsupported carriers, you will be pleased to learn that the iPhone Dev Team have developed PwnageTool 3.1.4, this means that the Apple iPhone is now supported out of the box.
Phones Review learnt from Softpedia that if you have upgraded your iPhone to run on 3.1.x in iTunes, the PwnageTool would perform its little trick to make your unlocked smartphone work. However, owners of the iPhone who uses Untralsn0w to unlock will lose the ability to take advantage of the tool, this means that you will have to update to the latest OS, iPhone 3.1.2.
Phones Review does explain that if your iPhone does use ultrasn0w, then you have to make sure that you update with an .ispw. This update has been made for use with the iPhone Dev Team’s PwnageTool 3.1.4. iPhone owners can use the PwnageTool then restore by using iTunes with the new .ispw.
We have to warn you that any changes like this made to your iPhone could result in you voiding your warranty.
