
IBM profits are up even as recession sapped its sales

Since the 90′s IBM have looked at different ways to adapt their company, originally they were a hardware company, however they have adapted in many markets to avoid collapse.
During the third quarter of 2009 IBM reported a 7 percent drop in revenue, however despite this drop in revenue they reported that profit had jumped 14 percent, this resulted in a raise in forecast for the second time this year.
