Hands-on: Acer Liquid A1 with Snapdragon and Android 1.6 Donut
Filed under: Cell Phones, Handsets

While on their many travels a few days ago, Engadget had noticed a hands-on with a handset that we cannot stop thinking about. The website was Pocket-Lint and the handset in question is the Acer Liquid A1. The handset is a first for a number of reasons, the most popular being its use of Android 1.6 Donut OS, sorry did we forget to mention its awesome 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
Pocket-Lint were lucky enough to get their grubby little hands on a sparkly red Acer Liquid A1 and just had to take some lovely shots as well as explain their impressions of the phone. The A1 shares the same processor as the Toshiba TG01 and the HTC HD2, but the huge screen along with its high resolution makes the phone a better choice for watching movies while on the go.
Pocket-Lint does not think that the Acer Liquid A1 is perfect though, yes, it has solid build quality, but the HTC Hero has more of that wow factor what people talk about so much. They also go on to say that the Android OS in use is not as friendly as the interface that is in use on either the HTC Hero or the Motorola DEXT.
There are no pricing or release details just yet, but we should be expecting an announcement very soon. For a more detailed look at the Snapdragon powered Acer Liquid A1, visit Pocket-Lint
