Free iPhone Apps: Apple helps them make money
By: Daniel Chubb | October 16, 2009 | 1 CommentAccording to an article on All Things Digital, Apple Inc has said that it will now allow iPhone App developers to sell additional content and features within free Apps.
An e-mail was sent from Apple to its developers informing them that the in-app purchasing feature was now available to be used in free Apps, not just premium Apps. And apparently this feature would help “simplify your development by creating a single version of your app that uses in App Purchase to unlock additional functionality, eliminating the need to create Lite versions of your app.”
Presumably this is a brainwave from Apple to entice more developers into creating Free App’s, and also to help clean up the catalogue of existing apps. What do you think? Let us know what you think here at Product Reviews!
