Blackberry Storm 2: More than a new coat of paint
By: Peter Chubb | October 15, 2009
RIM have announced the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 on not only Verizon in the U.S. but also on Vodafone in the UK. We know that the Storm2 gets a release date of October 26, with pre-orders already started and it looks as though Research In Motion have done more than offer the second-generation Storm a new coat of paint.
If you thought that RIM have just given the new model a few little software tweaks, then PC Mag explains that you would be wrong. There were two major downsides to the original Storm, the first was the lack of Wi-Fi, the second was the poor performing touch screen, thankfully RIM have rectified both issues.
PC Mag said that the BlackBerry Storm2 is the handset that they should have released first time around. We wonder if this would have changed its outcome and given the Apple iPhone the fight that had been promised.
There are five major differences with the new Storm 2, the first is its vastly improved screen, the second is that there are now less bugs. The third is the addition of multi-touch, the fourth built-in Wi-Fi and the fifth is its bottom-edge speaker.
