Xbox (720): ATI is the GPU for next console - Rumor

We have an interesting rumor to share with you now, as one source has claimed that Microsoft will be sticking with ATI as their GPU of choice for the next generation Xbox (720) console.

That’s according to this article from Fudzilla, who have learned from their ‘industry sources’ that ATI have already won the battle ahead of the likes of NVIDIA to be the graphics powerhouse for the new console.

As many of you will be aware, the Xbox 360 is equipped with the ATI Xenos which has 10 MB of eDRAM, which means many of you would of already guessed that ATI would continue and work on the next console with Microsoft.

Still though, it’s a rumor. We all know what they mean! Let us know your thoughts on this. Are you happy with ATI providing graphics for the next Xbox?

The Playstation folks at Sony better think hard about Laughabee (aka Larrabee). XBox is going to be the only console with decent graphics in 2012 if Sony doesn’t wise up and go with Nvidia or ATI.

yeah, i think ATI card is a great idea. the only “issues” ATI cards have ever had is the support for Drivers, well, that wont be a problem with a console. and those of us that are wise enough in computer software have no troubles installing ATI drivers.

ATI FTW :) (maybe this time we’ll get more cores than Sony’s console. but ffs, Microsoft, get a nice looking case! sony’s PS3 looks like something in a millionair’s home, and Xbox 360 looks like a kid’s toy box! make it SHINY and SMOOTH *_* )
