Solar-Powered Samsung Blue Earth: Released in Sweden
By: Jamie Pert | October 14, 2009
One new feature which seems to be getting more and more popular with handset manufacturers lately is solar-charging, at the end of September we spoke about the LG GD510 which has its own solar-panel for charging, now we are hearing that a new handset has launched in Sweden which also boasts this feature.
The new handset is called the Samsung Blue Earth, the main talking point for the handset is its solar charging, however it also boasts some other impressive specifications.
It features a 3 inch touchscreen display which supports a resolution of 240×400, it also features a 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi (b/g), and has a microSD memory card slot, for the full specifications check out this link.
Personally I think the handset sounds pretty good and would like to see it launch in some other countries, however no details on a more global release have yet been confirmed, for more information check out Cnet.

Green fans will appreciate the solar panels that charge the phone. The Samsung Blue Earth’s small display feels rather crowded. It lacks a full keyboard and call quality isn’t top-notch.
