HTC Hero: UK operator 3 offer pre-installed Spotify handset
By: Alan Ng | October 14, 2009 | Leave a CommentLast week, we informed you that Spotify was planning to bring their streaming music service to mobile phones in a dedicated package. Swedish network Telia was one of the first to announce a deal with Spotify, but now it has been confirmed that UK operator 3 will also be releasing Spotify phones before the end of the year.
As reported from Pocket-Lint, one of these handsets will be the HTC Hero. There will be two other handsets released with the Spotify app built in before the end of the year.
Rather than charge £10 a month like other Spotify services, it is thought that the charge will be added to your monthly 3 bill, although exact charges are not known yet.
Pocket-Lint points out the interesting position that Spotify now finds themselves in, competing with the likes of Apple iTunes and Nokia’s Comes with Music services.
