A new product called Dock-a-Mac has recently been announced by Florida based Computer Docking Systems, LLC, this device allows you to easily dock your MacBook to allow it to be used as like a desktop Mac.

The device is said to be compatible with all MacBook’s, the dock itself is made from ½ inch thick acrylic, there are three different versions of the dock allowing for VGA, DVI or HDMI configurations.

The dock stands the MacBook up vertically while the MacBook is still closed, therefore it takes up very little desk-space, over-heating has been taken into consideration and should not be an issue whilst in the dock.

The dock features 2 USB ports, 1 Firewire port, 1 Ethernet port, 1 of the above mentioned video adapters, 1 mic input, 1 headphone output.

The dock itself is currently shipping for $199.99 and that price includes shipping, check out their official website for more information.

What about heat? The MacBook is designed to be run horizontally and keeping the lid closed traps additional heat in the chassis.
