T-Mobile Sending Sidekick Victims $100 Gift Cards

Yesterday we heard that T-Mobile were halting sales of all of their Sidekick handsets following all of the recent news surrounding data loss, however now we are hearing of a way in which T-Mobile are trying to make it up to affected customers.

There is said to now be more hope then there previously was in regards to recovering lost data, however for all of the users who fully lose their data T-Mobile have pledged to give them a $100 T-Mobile gift card.

This gift card can be used in many ways such as buying handset accessories or paying for a bill, one interesting thing will be to see if T-Mobile will accept this gift card as part-payment for terminating your contract.

The $100 gift card plus the month of free data are certainly a nice gesture, however the inconvenience this has caused to many for outweighs that value, however there will be some users at the other end of the scale who barely used their Sidekick and now have an extra $100 to play with, find out more on SlashGear which also includes T-Mobile’s full statement.

Do you think the efforts made by T-Mobile are adequate given the inconvenience it has caused? If not what would you say is a fairer means of compensation?

If T-mobile was really truly sorry, then they would wave the cancellation fee.
