New Cadillac Logo / Emblem: What do you think?

By: Peter Chubb | October 13, 2009 | 1 Comment

Cadillac have been trying hard to rebrand its image, this is evident with their range of new cars. Well the automaker thought that its logo / emblem needed some updating as well, the changes are very subtle, but enough to turn heads.

The previous Cadillac logo had a sleek look with a matte finish; this version has been around since 1999, so was long overdue for an update. According to Under Consideration, the new emblem is said to represent its “art & science” campaign.

The new Cadillac logo now has more texture on the wreath and inside the crest. The crest edge has now been embossed and has new light effects. The new design has a slight retro feel to it, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but we certainly like it.

Cadillac has yet to officially announce the new logo, but they should do so very soon. It will be interesting to see what the new emblem looks like on the front of a Cadillac vehicle.

What do you think of the new Cadillac Logo / Emblem?

This is the tackiest logo in the world car market. It is pimp mobile/college ring aesthetic and does not travel well off the shores of the USA. Put all the luxury car logos on a table and this is the only one that is a joke. The car would be 90% better and have more appeal to discerning foreigners and young people if GM just got a great American designer (not from the Island of Detroit) to do a elegant/refined new design. Enough of the Julius Caesar Wreath and dumb badge.
