GSM Palm Pre: Available in Germany for €481

The new GSM Palm Pre has been in the planning for some time now, but we can now reveal that the handset is ready for pre-order in Germany. We mentioned in a recent post that the GSM Palm Pre would be launched in the UK on October 16.

The Palm handset will be available in both countries on the O2 network. The device comes at a price though, for an open handset without a contract you will need to part with €481 ($710.20). Engadget’s advice is to go on a 24 month contract for just €20 per month.

The GSM Palm Pre will also have two free apps made available from the Pre catalog; these are the Ran and VZ-Netzwerke. Both are in German, so no good for the rest of Europe then. There are sure to be a huge list of new German apps once the handset starts getting into the hands of users in the country.

The rest of Europe will start to see the GSM Palm Pre over the next few days, let us know if you will be purchasing the handset.
