DHS may use Nintendo’s Wii Balance Boards at airports

According to Desire Athow over at ITProPortal, it seems that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the US may soon start using Wii Balance Board’s to apprehend terrorists. Sounds mad? Read on.

A new method of screening called ‘Future Attribute Screening Technology’ (FAST), is set to be rolled out to a selection of key American Airports. FAST is likely to include the use of Wii Balance boards to help identify certain physical characteristics that are displayed in terrorists such as irregular eye movement, and inconsistencies in breathing. It is thought that suspected terrorists are more likely to shuffle their feet when on the Wii Balance Board.

I don’t know about you, but I think I will get pulled aside for screening every time I go to the airport. Airports make me nervous, and if these measures are put into place, I imagine I will act even more nervous. What do you readers think of this idea? A great screening idea, or an unnecessary measure?
