Apple Update: iMacs, Mac Minis, MacBooks and multitouch mouse

Over at Wired.com’s Gadget Lab, An article has been posted up regarding rumours of an update to the current iMac, Mac Mini, Macbook and multi-touch mouse. And all the information is very convincing.

According to the site it is expected that a new iMac should be announced any day now as Apple tend to refresh the iMac every 7 months, and the last update was in March. The new iMac which is believed to be thinner and sport a more organic design with smooth or rounded edges could have been confirmed accidentally by Apple in a Google Ad Sense slip up which put out the advertisement saying “The Brand new iMac. Ultra Thin 20 & 24 inch models. From only € 1099. Apple Store”. Also it seems Apple made the same slip up with the Macbook and Mac Mini with the following advertisements respectively “Apple’s Newest MacBook. Thinner, lighter and faster! Free delivery. Order today.” And “Apple’s New Mac Mini. Faster and more affordable than ever. From only € 499. Order immediately”.

The rumoured iMac is supposedly set to ship with a new multi-touch mouse. Also it looks as if the rumoured Macbook will be available in white as you can already find pictures and advertisements of this new white Macbook if you search Google images for any length of time.

I’m so tempted to buy the low end right now at student price and just configure it to 4gb RAM. I should wait huh?

    • Dave says:

I would wait. Aside from the proposed slimmer design, I’m sure there will be performance upgrades. The lowest end model may end up sub 1K on the price tag (before student discount). No way to know for sure, but that’s the impression I’m getting.
