Xbox 360 vs. PS3: Twitter, Facebook, and Sky

The battle of the games console has been heating up in recent months, with Microsoft and Sony trying to outdo each other with their Xbox 360 and PS3. Sony recently released the PS3 Slim, a slimmer version of the console with a cheaper price tag.

Microsoft will not let PlayStation have all its own way, and the news that Xbox 360 will soon support Twitter, Facebook and Sky shows that they have an answer. Does it make it a more desirable system, only time will tell? One thing is certain; the holiday season is going to be a true test for sales of both consoles.

Sky player will not offer the full service as those with a dedicated Sky box, as they will not have access to Sky HD content. However, the idea of having Sky TV on games consoles means one less device in your home.

Later in October, Facebook Last.fm and Twitter will be available on Microsoft’s Xbox Live service. TechRadar wonders if hardcore Xbox gamers will want to reduce their gaming time so that they can update their Facebook or Twitter status.

    Xbox isnt getting full sky its getting a streaming service like the iplayer.

    Its not as if its PlayTV you get to plug TV cable in the machine. Its rubbish will not sell more xboxs.

    Nope the new sky system will not be anything like bbc iplayer, it will let you watch live channels like sky sports 1 2 3 and a few movies channels, also you can pick what to watch from movies like the dark knight to ironman, the facebook and twitter feature will not be like the web based layout it will be xboxes own layout with additional good features, looking very forward to it, o then project natal is out soon. gets better and better

    According to Microsoft Project Natal isn’t expected until the latter half of 2010. Unless MS are hiding something it won’t be seen this Christmas. Sony’s motion controller isn’t out until spring 2010 either.

    ive invested so much money buying sony products…instead of improving they went the other way…samsung and lg are some of the few that can beat sony…its the 21st century…sony just want profits…and this one way of getting their money back…charging customers to repair ps3 bricked or damaged by their own program…i dont have a written stupid word on my forehead..

    my ps1 and ps2 still run because there were no updates or anything; the fact that my ps3 is rarely used since i bought it… because i have a sony bd350, a sony dvd with hdmi, and a wii console that i have played with my 6 yr old daughter most of the time…only when my daughter wanted to play the ducks in ps3 …that evry 15 minutes a notice will appear about the new update…to get over with it…i did the update from 2.8 to 3.01…after a while it restarted with a blank screen…did the video reset…called sony asking for 200 dollars…end up using a component cable to view the ps3…sony said not the firmware but admitted it is the hardware…a 600 dollar equipment easily with cheap components..i rest my case…will never buy sony products anymore…of course i already signed up on the class action lawsuit.

    xbox is the best any day the reason u have to pay for live is that it is better quolitty and ps3 are more expensive becase live is free microsoft is better than sony did u know if microsoft pic up a 20 pound note by the time they do theve made 40 pound

    ye this website is full of xbox fanboys who just talk pooo. and the sky thing is ****. you have to have a sky box 4 it to work u no. and the psn is free and much faster than xbox live ppl just look stuff up before u talk ****. i own a ps3 wii dreamcast n64 and xbox gaming pc and gaming laptop. i can tell u now pc kicks ass then my ps3 its free online free i tell you. so xbox fan boys stop talking about stuff you dont no about.

    well daveo you dont need a sky box to use sky on the xbox its live streiming you can use for free if you have sky allredy or pay as you go so you shut up know all

    fanboys? hmmm I guess that means you are a ps3 fanboy, and a hypocrite! you must be mad because your purchase wasn’t justified. I know mine wasn’t! I have ps3 and a 360 and the playstation is a POS, I don’t find waiting for hours for updates when ever I turn the damn thing on very fun.. Besides you don’t even have a 360 so think things through before you talk smack.

    ha, stick u ur PC. The smart people who have an xbox can really experince the games that they buy. I sure as hell dont give a dang a bout sky and all that crap. I just want my xbox and online
