Sprint HTC Hero Review: Entertainment and Performance
By: Jamie Pert | October 12, 2009 | Leave a CommentFollowing the news earlier today that the HTC Hero is finally available from Sprint we are now seeing a few reviews for the highly anticipated handset, one these reviews has focused on the handsets performance and entertainment capabilities, you can see this article here.
The HTC Hero runs Google’s Android OS and features a 528Mhz processor, all in all the performance is pretty good, however not amazing, most of the time the software is pretty lag free, however when browsing the Internet the accelerometer has a delay whilst switching from portrait to landscape mode.
As for entertainment capabilities the handset is pretty mediocre, audio playback is pretty good however video playback is a little less impressive, videos are said to appear quite choppy, it is thought that this is perhaps a software fault as the Hero’s hardware should not struggle with video playback.
The 5 megapixel camera on the Hero is also pretty disappointing, the photo-quality is said to be about the equivalent of a 3 megapixel camera and the video capture quality is said to be extremely poor.
