Samsung Moment: Hands-on and Slideshow
By: Peter Chubb | October 12, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe Samsung Moment for the Sprint network is known for two things, its 800-MHz processor and its superb AMOLED screen. This handset has a tough job on its hands, as it aims to be one of the best Google Android handsets on the market. This latest review aims to prove just that, the slideshow that we have found certainly offers us more perspective on the Moment.
PC Mag spent some time with the Samsung Moment while at CTIA 2009, and they mentioned that their first impressions were that the phone felt like any standard handset on the market today. The handset is gray and black in color and is made from plastic. The slide-out keyboard is just like we have seen before on a dozen handsets before it, although the keys have been spaced apart nicely and are all backlit.
The phone looks to have already got off to a bad start, but PC Mag explains that Samsung have more than made up for that with the Moment’s AMOLED screen, which is much brighter and and offers more vivid colors than any standard LCD screen.
Sprint have done a good job with the pre-loaded apps, these include NFL and NASCAR apps as well as Sprint Navigation and TV. Not sure how Samsung can say that the Moment will set itself apart from other Android smartphones, as for the most part is pretty standard.
The Samsung Moment for Sprint will be released on November 1, and has a price tag of $179.99. To view the slideshow, head over to PC Mag. Why not watch a video of the Samsung Moment, which was filmed at CTIA 2009
