You may have read our post earlier today regarding the performance and entertainment that Sprint’s HTC Hero offers, at the time of the post we did mentioned where the handset fell a bit short, however we did not really look at the handset specifications, build quality and the design.
The main specifications worth mentioning include a Qualcomm 528MHz processor, 288MB of RAM and 512MB ROM, the handset comes with Android 1.5 Cupcake and uses HTC’ Sense UI.
The handset features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera, a microSD memory card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and built-in GPS, the handset also offers WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, you can see a full spec listing here.
The build and design quality of the handset is great, the handset is said to feel robust and the casing seems pretty hard to scratch, it is also aesthetically pleasing and has a pretty minimalistic design, one disappointment is the use of a 16 bit color display, especially when compared to handsets such as the Palm Pre and iPhone, that said the viewing angles are extremely impressive.
