HTC Hero on Sprint: Phones not operating on EVDO REV A
By: Alan Ng | October 12, 2009
Following on from the release of the HTC Hero on Sprint today, it has been reported that some versions of the phone will ‘not’ be operating on the EVDO REV A network as previously promised by Sprint.
As reported from Examiner, the phone they had recieved was actually running EVDO REV 0 and not REV A, despite being in a EVDO REV A area.
To check what version your phone is running, simply go to phone settings > about phone > status > mobile network type. You should then be able to see what revision your Hero is running.
Let us know what it displays under your status. We will try and get info from Sprint regarding this issue for you as soon as possible.

Dang….got mine yesterday and it’s running on EVDO REV 0. Please update us if/when you get more info on this.
CDMA – EvDo rev. 0 here as well. (Phoenix, AZ)
Ditto here. Rev 0. :/
Bought mine yesterday, it says CDMA-EvDO rev.0
What does this mean? What is the difference?
Rev0 here as well. Will there be a update?
