According to a recent article on SlipperyBrick it seems that Acer are recalling some of their Acer Aspire models, this is due to a problem related to over heating, whether this recall is for customer safety or to prevent further damage to the laptop is currently unclear.
Models which are being recalled are the Acer Aspire AS3410, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3810TZG which were manufactured before September 15th 2009, it is thought that the problem is due a microphone cable which can overheat if “extreme pressure is applied”.
If you think that your Aspire may have this issue I recommend checking out Acer’s Support pages, you can find out more on SlipperyBrick.

I have the timeline 3810tzg which was recalled. I shipped it to them last friday and it was back to me within 7 days. They also upgraded the bios to the latest version.
