BlackBerry Storm 2: Are you buying this month?

We have known about the RIMs upcoming BlackBerry Storm 2 for some time now, but we have not had an official release date from Research in Motion. According to Erictric, the latest rumors suggests that the Storm 2 9550 will be released on October 21, but will you rush to get one this month?

There have been a number of rumors as to what the new device will be called, we have all been calling it the Storm 2, but there have been some reports that the BlackBerry 9550 will be called the Storm2, not sure how much truth in that one.

What do we know about the BlackBerry Storm 2 / Storm2 so far? The Storm 2 is the second-generation Storm handset from RIM and comes with a touchscreen. The original Storm suffered from its poor performing touchscreen, but RIM have worked hard and developed a much better system now.

The new Storm 2 now comes with, BBM 5.0, Wi-Fi, something that the first Storm phone did not. Not sure why RIM has chosen a 3.2-megapixel camera, we know that Blackberry handsets have never been aimed at the consumer market, but the Storm handset is a consumer BlackBerry. This could be the one feature that could hurt the Storm 2 sales.
