TomTom Car Kit for iPhone: Back on Apple Store UK

Since the TomTom Car Kit for the iPhone was removed from the Apple Store a few weeks ago, I have been visiting the Website each day to see if the device has been put back on. Thankfully, the TomTom Car Kit for the Apple iPhone is finally back on the store again, but only on Apple Store UK.

The reason why the car kit was removed was due to the confusion of the TomTom navigation app for the iPhone. Apple had said that the app was included in the price of the Car Kit, this lead a number of calls being made to Apple over what happens to those who had already purchased the app.

Apple now state that the TomTom app for iPhone features will be (sold separately). The price for just the car kit is £100, TomTom states (The TomTom app for iPhone is not included with this TomTom Car Kit. The Car Kit dock is compatible with all iPhone models, but the TomTom app only works with iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G.)

Although the TomTom Car Kit for the iPhone is up on the UK Apple Store, you can only pre-order at this time. The release date is reported to be from 1 to two weeks. We have searched on the US Apple Store, but we still do not see the car kit on there yet. We will keep searching and let you know once available.
