NVIDIA Ion 2: 2009 Launch Confirmed

Back in early July we posted an article suggesting that we should expect to see the release of NVIDIA’s Ion 2 chipset sometime in late 2009, we have now had confirmation from NVIDIA stating that they still plan to release the chipset sometime in 2009.

Currently netbooks and nettops use NVIDIA’s Ion chipset to deliver 1080p video playback to Intel Atom systems, it is thought that the Ion 2 chipset should enable devices to deliver even better graphical processing.

Exact dates and information have not been confirmed so far, but given the fact that NVIDIA have a rift with Intel regarding DMI based processors I would imagine this would be one of NVIDIA’s high priorities, check out SlashGear for more
