Nokia Qt port to Maemo 5 for Nokia N900 Official
By: Peter Chubb | October 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentNokia have finally announced its official Qt port to Maemo 5, which they have now published a Technology Preview of the system. This port to Maemo 5 is certainly great news for developers, as they can now use Qt, allowing them to target the much-anticipated Nokia N900. (Hands on Video)
According to a Nokia Press Release found via Engadget, the developers will also be able to ensure that applications can be ported to all Qt’s supported platforms easily, these includes future releases, such as Maemo 6, Symbian and Windows Mobile.
The new Qt port to Maemo5, which works perfectly with the Maemo 5 environment, will be used to power the Nokia N900 device. The port though is to be based on the Qt 4.6; this is due for launch in the first quarter of 2010.
This is a smart move on Nokia’s part, as it will help them to gain a marketshare. For more information, visit Nokia.com
