It has been reported that Sprint are already offering their version of the HTC Hero a few days early via the telesales route. The phone is not expected in stores until October 11th.
The news is according to BGR, who have phoned up Sprint telesales already and were offered to buy the HTC Hero for $279.99 on a 2-year deal before a $100 mail-in rebate.
Don’t forget that the HTC Hero will be Sprint’s first Android phone and Sprint’s ‘chinless’ design is rather different compared to the original one.
The Hero will pack a 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and will run on Sprint’s CDMA network. Let us know if you are planning to pick up one. Now’s your chance to get it a few days early.

As a US Sprint customer, my options have been mostly limited to WinMobile, Blackberry, and Palm. Not interested in blackberry … although i currently own a Palm Centro … although it is a reasably good phone, i have not been suitably impressed with the OS or freeware apps . Yes i said it FREEWARE. There … WinMobile had the market cornered! My mogul was a wonderful little computer … despite the frequent need for soft resets … but a really cruddy phone. When i read about Android i got all excited … but … alas no phones on the Sprint network. Share your review with me at http://www.HTC-Hero.com a site for HTC Hero fans.
