AT&T’s HTC Tilt 2 feels like a Touch Pro2

Engadget was allowed some alone time with AT&T’s HTC Tilt 2 and found that it looks and feels just like a Touch Pro2. The guys who had a hands-on with the handset said that it is not the transformation that the Pure had over the Touch Diamond2.

Not that this is a bad thing the phone is ideally suited for business clientele. However, if you ever want a handset to succeed, then you need to market the phone for consumers as well. This will be hard to do, as it is not a phone that you want to add silly gimmick to or start to offer it up in a range of strange colors.

In the short time that Engadget had with the HTC Tilt 2, they did notice how TouchFLO was up and running well thanks to some tweaking by AT&T. There is also to be a European version, the keyboard will be different from the North American version.

The HTC Tilt 2 was released on October 8, 2009 and will cost $299.99 on a two-year contract.

Please tell me that you know that the Tilt 2 IS the Touch Pro 2. AT&T just relabeled it to distinguish it from the other carriers. AT&T is also the only carrier who waited for WM6.5 to be released so that it comes preloaded with it as opposed to the other carriers who will need to download it.

I think they know that…they’re referring to the way AT&T made dramatic changes to the phone they rebranded with the Pure (aka Touch Diamond2). I’m glad for that, too. I plan on trading in my Pure for the Tilt 2 on Monday.
