Samsung SH-B083: Blu-ray Reader, CD & DVD Burner

Samsung have recently unveiled what is believed to be the first ever Blu-ray reader/ CD and DVD burner combo drive, the drive is called the Samsung SH-B083, this single drive should solve the problem for people who want to play Blu-ray films without having to buy a separate drive for burning CD’s and DVD’s on their PC

The drive has the ability to read BD-R and BD-ROM discs at a maximum of 8x, it also has the ability to write to CD’s at up to 40x and write DVD’s at up to 16x, the drive also boasts a 350ms average access speed, which is said to be the fastest on the market.

The drive comes bundled with Cyberlink TrueTheater, this software supports upscaling DVD’s to Full HD resolution, firmware updates will be a regular thing with the drive.
