Samsung Moment: Android handset with AMOLED Announced

Samsung have recently announced their first Android handset to hit the US, this handset is called the Samsung Moment and will be exclusively available on Sprint, you can find out full details on the handset including a press release here.

Some of the specifications worth mentioning include a 3.2 inch AMOLED display, this display supports a resolution of 320×480 along with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, as mentioned above the handset will run Google’s Android OS.

Other features the handset offers include a microSD memory card slot, an optical joystick, WiFi, an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, Exchange push-email support, and a 3.2 megapixel camera with a flash and auto-focus.

As for pricing and availability the handset is expected to be available from Sprint as of November 1st, the handset is said to cost $179.99 as part of a two-year deal, this pricing takes into account a $100 mail-in rebate and $50 of instant savings.
